Summary
This thesis is a comparison between quantitative risk models in civil engineering and inthe financial sector. By analyzing the language and the models of both sectors, differences and similarities can be discerned. These differences and similarities are important to recognise if we want to be able to not only tatke to, but as well speak with, the other profession. This subject requires knowledge of the financial sector, both of methods and procedures, but as well of ways of thinking.
